For landscape business cards your file should measure 91 x 61mm, for portrait it should be 61 x 91mm, this includes 3mm bleed on each edge. The finished card will be trimmed to 85 x 55mm.

Sizes for other items, and a helpful animation explaining bleed can be found on our file preparation tutorial

Your file should not contain any cutting/trim marks, printers marks or similar as these will be printed on your cards.

Very fine text, rules and keylines should be avoided.

If possible, your file should be created in CMYK colour format to ensure the most accurate colour reproduction. We can accept RGB files, but there is a risk that some of the colours may not print exactly as they appear on your screen.

If you have an area of solid black within your document, 100% black (K) alone will not result in a solid, saturated black. Instead, please use Rich Black, as represented by C:100% / M:30% / Y:30% / K:100%.

Images placed into your document should be at least 300dpi at the size they are to be used.

Your document should be saved from Quark Xpress as an EPS file.

You will need to open the EPS file in a vector based software such as Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand, where you can convert all the text to outlines before resaving and uploading. Please see the separate instructions for these softwares for details on how to do this.

EPS files cannot be uploaded direct from Quark as they contain font information which may not reproduce correctly.

.QXD files cannot be uploaded, and should be re-saved as EPS.
