We’ve put a lot of research into QR Codes and their readability to ensure that the QR codes added to our business cards using our integrated systems are clear and error free to guarantee that your code is readable. However, QR codes that have been clipped, shrunk, integrated into a printed design with size/colour changes or other such alterations may have had their reliability and readability affected. Let’s look at some of the common causes of a broken QR code.

Procrastination is something that I suffer badly from, and I don’t think im alone.  Instead of tackling important tasks such as ordering business cards for an imminent meeting, I find myself filling my time with mundane and worthless pastimes (like playing on my Xbox).  However looking at some of our customers ordering habits, I don’t think I am the only person suffering from such a debilitating bad habit.  Goodprint offer a next day or express business card printing service, and with such high quality cards available so quickly it isn’t surprising that a large number of our customers take advantage of this service.

Scott Perry of SP Magic describes himself as a cardist, showman and sleight of hand expert. We describe him as awesome. He decided he didn’t want to leave Goodprint a review on Trustpilot when prompted by our feedback, so instead made a video full of awesomeness.

This month we experimented with a different template to send our monthly offer within. We’ve decided that whilst our old templates were functional, they weren’t that pretty! So this month and next month our emails will be leading with a nice big graphic at the top that we hope you’ll like and share. The image above is this month’s and next month’s is going to be something really special!

These beautifully designed cards are the work of Phil Johns at PJ Studio. Clearly designed by someone with an eye for colour, this design is certainly modern, crisp and sleek. Added round corners compliment the design perfectly and appear to flow with Phil’s brilliant logo.

Ben
Ben works in Domestic Electrical Services, so we love how he’s composed his photograph. We’re fond of the crisp ‘Element’ logo and think it works nicely with the small amount of text included. Simple yet effective!

Thana
Thana Thammavongsa has sent us this stunningly composed image of her ‘Whoosh’ cards in situ’ and we love every aspect of them! From the Elephant logo to the lovely bright background, these cards ooze style, and attaching them to the chopsticks is something we’ve certainly never seen before, so top marks for creativity Thana!

Scott Perry – Magician

November 2011 by Goodprint | Comments 1 Latest by M.A Sadad

Scott Perry
Scott is a ‘cardist’ magician and is the creator of spmagic.co.uk. His use of rounded corners aptly transforms his business cards into the style of playing cards and his spade-style logo really hits home his profession.

Simon Clements

This card was designed and sent in by Simon Clements, a web designer and the creator of Blue Bot Designs. His business card design features many elements, many of which are very subtle but effective. The grey stone-like text behind the Blue Bot image works nicely with the blue of the logo.

James is a web designer and we thought that featuring his cards would be a great start to the week. It’s fantastic to see people making brilliant use of our material and cutting options and as you can see with these cards, the combination of textured card and a round corner makes for a very stylish result. The blue background works nicely, especially with the punchy, bold text. Great stuff James!

Optimising photos for CMYK printing

July 2011 by Nick | Comments 1 Latest by Stephen Gage

Hi guys,

In my spare time, I do lots of photography- wildlife photography to be exact and it's not uncommon to see wildlife photographers placing orders for postcards and business cards to advertise their websites, blogs and exhibitions. Photography is a popular choice of both career and hobby and this is certainly reflected in the amount of photographers we have order from Goodprint.

Since we're in the business of Business Cards, we've found out a few nifty uses for them over the years, other than simply as a faithful detail holding companion. Today I'll be showing you how to turn one of your business cards into a free stand for your iPhone or iPod touch.

"Cheap" is a word with a variety of connotations and definitions. It can simply mean "low in price" - but isn't an inherently comparative word like 'bargain' or 'value'. It can also be used as a synonym for poor quality. As such, it isn't a word we tend to associate with our products.

That's not to say we don't sell on price - we do. But when we get phone calls asking as to price match certain other online suppliers of business cards we have to explain the reasons we don't

Whether it's used as a marketing tool, an advertising aid or just an extension of customer services, the opportunity to talk to customers and others who may have use for their services is ever present. I'm going to take a little time to explain why Goodprint use Twitter and why our methods of using it may differ from other online companies.

Why rendering Emails for iPhone is so important

April 2011 by Ben | Comments 1 Latest by Adam Roxby

The above image shows email clients in which our customers opened our most recent email campaign. It certainly shows that more and more people are checking their emails on their phon first, before possibly going to their computer to order. If you've not started testing your email campaigns on smart phones, you really should now start!

So I’ve just completed my 3rd month in charge of Goodprint’s email marketing campaigns. It’s been a steep learning curve, but one I’ve been thoroughly enjoying sinking my teeth into. I’ve spent a lot of time reading articles and talking to other marketers about the best approaches, so here’s my summary of email marketing top-tips.

I believe that it's rather important to get your printed colours to match your original design as well as possible. However, there are factors that can often make this quite difficult. If you've ordered printed products before and your printed colours looked absolutely spot on to what you ordered, then you either know what you're doing or you're very lucky!  This short guide will assist you in getting the right colours using our templates. QR Codes on Business Cards

December 2010 by Nick | Comments 1 Latest by Mark Wilderspin
You may have heard of QR codes as they've been around for a while. When they were first put into use, you could expect to see a QR code on a router label from a courier. But now, thanks to to the rapid way in which technology moves forward, QR codes are easy to generate and put to use yourself. The peeps here at Goodprint HQ have only recently noticed the full potiential of these codes as they're becoming more recognised in a business capacity. If you've not discovered them yet, then you might

We've all been there haven't we? The shops are heaving with festive shoppers, the roads are stuffed with holiday traffic, yet you've still got one more person to buy for and you have no idea what to get. Sure, a nice box of chocolates will suffice, but there's nothing that shows your effort and thought more than a personalised gift. If you've bought personalised chocolate, you win.

Comic Sans; so not funny

December 2010 by Nick
Earlier this week, I butted in on a short conversation between a few chaps that I follow on Twitter. Unfortunately, due to Twitter's lack of functionality this afternoon, I'm unable to see exactly what was said, but I recall the conversation was about fonts and how we associate fonts with certain places. One follower, Nick, mentioned how Florist signs always seem to be written in Zapf Chancery in caps on a curve. To tell you the truth, I'm not too clued up on fonts - sure, I know a few, the

A Design Collation

December 2010 by Nick
I've always been a big fan of good, well executed design. I'm usually the one that gets branded a pedant because I like a design to be perfect. I like the sleek, clinical whites that Apple use for their branding, the colours and style of the Firefox logo. Working here, I'm fortunate enough to get the chance to see hundreds of unique and wonderful designs every week and I often scour the packing belts for cards that I like. It can be very inspiring to see the power of a good logo or design that s

For some, choosing a material for their business card might not bear a second thought. For others, it's an important part of the design process in making sure that their card gives the right impression or makes the desired impact. There's nothing worse than receiving a floppy, poorly made business card is there? It doesn't really make a good impression! Here at Goodprint, we take great pride in offering a wide range of high quality materials and our standard material for printing business

This is a really cheap and personal way of making your cards as individual as possible.
